CoolPower is a deep-tech climate innovation developing next-generation air conditioning systems that both cool spaces and generate electricity from the heat they remove. By integrating hybrid refrigeration cycles with energy-harvesting components, CoolPower transforms conventional AC units from pure energy consumers into distributed energy assets. The technology is designed to operate reliably in extreme heat and high-humidity environments where traditional cooling systems lose efficiency, strain electrical grids, and increase carbon emissions. CoolPower’s mission is to deliver resilient, energy-efficient, and environmentally sustainable cooling for a rapidly warming world. The company has built multiple proof-of-concept prototypes and is progressing toward pilot deployments to validate performance, reliability, and customer value in real-world conditions. About me

I am Mahmoud Tharwat, a deep-tech founder driven by a mission to make cooling more sustainable, resilient, and energy-efficient in a rapidly warming world. My background spans clinical pharmacology, intellectual property and patent strategy, and hands-on hardware R&D, an uncommon combination that enables me to bridge scientific innovation with real-world commercialization.

I founded CoolPower to tackle one of the most pressing global challenges: the rising energy demand and grid strain caused by conventional air conditioning, especially in extreme-heat climates. Over the past few years, I have led the end-to-end development of our technology, from concept and patent filing to building multiple proof-of-concept prototypes and validating the thermodynamic principles behind our dual-function cooling and energy-recovery system.

My approach is highly execution-focused: rapid prototyping, practical engineering validation, and continuous iteration based on real-world performance rather than purely theoretical design. I am particularly passionate about climate-tech and distributed energy solutions that can reduce electricity consumption, lower carbon emissions, and enhance resilience during power outages.

As a founder from an emerging market, I bring a strong understanding of high-temperature environments, cost-sensitive customers, and infrastructure constraints, insights that shape CoolPower’s design philosophy and go-to-market strategy. My goal is to build a globally scalable deep-tech company that transforms air conditioning from an energy burden into a smarter, more sustainable energy asset.
