Dr. Mona Oliveira holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine, a Master’s in Biotechnology, and a dual PhD between Brazil and Slovenia. With over 15 years of experience in applied biosciences, she founded BioLinker eight years ago, now a leading synthetic biology company in Latin America. As CEO, she is pioneering breakthrough technologies at the intersection of science, innovation, and AI—advancing the next generation of protein engineering.
She has been recognized with multiple national and international awards, including the USP Alumni Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the Women Innovators Award from FINEP, and Top 3 finalist at the Harvard University Brazil Conference Startup Competition (2024). She also won 2nd place at Web Summit Rio (2023) and was ranked among Brazil’s Top 3 Biotech Startups by 100 Open Startups (2023).
